The living memory of their modern descendants does not reach that far back, but History has not forgotten them. The backbone of the family, the grand rabbis of Edirne, are well attested, and so are the early members of the Parallel Branch.
We would like to look closer at these illustrious ancestors, but our special emphasis should be placed on family members of that period who are not mentioned in the History books.
Out of 23 individuals who constitute Generations 1-7 at the present state of our knowledge, only 11 are known figures. We would like to learn something about the remaining 12.
Any single piece of information on them should be considered a rare achievement.
Therefore, we shall deal with each one of the twelve separately, present the little we know about each, and discuss the possibilities of learning more.
